TANBA

2010 / stile LIFE / Japan

Tanba ware, cultivated for over 800 years at the foot of the rich green mountains, is one of the 6 oldest pottery centers (Nihon Rokkoyo) along with Seto and Bizen. It has produced a wide range of utensils from everyday use to tea ceremony tools with emphasis on being practical, and has been loved by many people. The TANBA series was created in collaboration with the pottery craftworkers with the concept of producing a new Tanba brand using the traditional method. The contrast of the glaze that brings out the natural texture and the firing of clay bears an attractively modern tone. Size and shapes are
specifically designed for everyday use. They are designed so that these dishes may be used frequently for all occasions, both everyday special.
