Toshiyuki Kita Exhibition “IL LUSSO DELLA NATURA” / Chiesa Di San Domenico [ALBA,Italy]

Kita’s exhibition “IL LUSSO DELLA NATURA” was held at Chiesa Di San Domenico in ALBA,Italy, a 14th century old church located in central Alba near northern Italy of TURIN. General supervision by Bertone Design office in Milan. This was held in succession to Kita’s exhibition “Timeless Future” on June of 2014 in Barolo Castle of Piemonte,Italy, a pre-MilanoEXPO2015 event.

Milano Salone 2013”serie MAGICA”

Toshiyuki Kita released “serie MAGICA” from Giorgetti, one of the world’s most prominent Italian wooden furniture brands. With beautiful leather coverings, the contrast between the wooden and metal materials creates a sophisticated impression. This series is comprised of a rotary recliner, stool, and table. Millano Salone 2013”SARUYAMA GIRO”

Toshiyuki Kita’s famous work “SARUYAMA” was released by MOROSO in 1989, followed by “SARUYAMA ISLANDS” in 2006 and the new “SARUYAMA GIRO” in 2013. Like the SARUYAMA pieces of the past, each part of SARUYAMA GIRO can be freely combined or moved to different locations according to individual sensibilities. Timeless Future

Timeless Future @ Shanghai H.N.Lin Design Center 2009

An exhibition gathering together Kita’s work that depicts the future will be held in Shanghai, China. A solo exhibition held at a gallery sponsored by a German interior shop in the center of Munich. This exhibition included traditional craft items, lamps that incorporated technology, and sofas by interior makers. Many local designers and members of the press attended the opening where food was presented on Arita-yaki.

Milano Salone 2001”L’anima del Design”

An exhibition that used all of the 5,000 square meter venue and featured a wide variety of Kita’s works, from his well-known pieces to his new works. This comprehensive exhibition of furniture, televisions, daily use articles, traditional crafts, etc. provided an overall, comprehensive view of Kita’s activities and pieces and was the largest solo exhibition at that year’s Milano Salone.

Synthese aus Natur und Techniky

A solo exhibition, based on the themes of nature and technology, that was held at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg. A size 28 LCD television was placed in a space created solely from natural materials. After the exhibition, “AQUOS C1” was selected for the museum’s permanent collection.

A solo exhibition held at a lifestyle shop in Brescia, Italy. Several hundred people attended the opening, including members of the press. The washi paper lamps that had just been presented in Europe and the size 28 LCD television were especially popular.

Toshiyuki Kita Exhibition

A solo exhibition held at the Four Seasons Hotel in the Ubud region of central Bali. Included works consisted mainly of washi paper. This exhibition proved to be a chance for many people, including local artists and tourists, to encounter Kita’s work. The lamps are permanently displayed in the stairwell.
