Michinoku(Tohoku region)’s traditional craft “Yamagata Imono(castings)” began with discovery of very suitable sand for sand-mold castings over 900 years ago in the Heian-era that still continues to this day; since then innumerable tea kettles and iron tea pots has been produced.
